Abstract

Adaptation to technological change is imperative, given the great dynamism of Information Technology (IT). In this scenario, the learning new concepts results in a cognitive and organizational capacity that must be strengthened to perceive the need for change. In the paper, we start by recognizing the benefits of ontologies to explicitly and consistently accumulate domains of knowledge that constitute good practices. Ontology exploration is a way to systematize the new concepts in order to adapt to technological change. However, the exploration of ontologies is a complex activity from the technological and cognitive point of view. Therefore, the objective is to present the development of a catalogue of patterns, as well as the methods for their use to different ontology exploration needs.
