Abstract

User Interface Design acquires high importance in usability, user experience and software quality. A study about interface design is presented with the objective of proposing a system of principles that evidences the characteristics of the process for its elaboration focused on the software development process and its essential concepts. For this, different research methods were used both theoretical (analysis-synthesis, structural systemic, hermeneutical-dialectical), and empirical (observation guide, interviews and surveys) and their result is an important part of the author's doctoral thesis. As part of the research, the system of principles was applied in the preparation of undergraduate and graduate students in the specialties of Computer Science at the Universidad de Oriente in Santiago de Cuba, achieving results that show its relevance, both in products aimed at the teaching as in the business sector and industry. In this sense, the award received in the Digital for Development contest sponsored by the Central African Museum in Brussels stands out, being deserving of first place in the iStartup category with the Wise Pocket platform. The results of the research have contributed to the training of specialized personnel in a coherent and practical way, to raising the quality of the products and the process, as well as promoting good practices in graphic and interface design applied to the computerization process of society. in the eastern territory
