Abstract

The development of science and technology over the past few years has been changing the way people think and work, so it is necessary to change to new ways of learning. At the Pinar del Río University, careers with a technical profile are studied and the renewal of learning methods and the updating of the contents to be taught in each of the subjects is decisive for the training of professionals according to current technological demands. In the Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering career the curriculum establishes the subject Computer Network Administration in which students manually set up the fundamental services of a professional network. The objective of this thesis is the need to study configuration managers in this subject to eliminate manual configurations in network services and provide students with the working methods currently used and the good practices used by professionals of their field of study. The research carried out is a descriptive type, the main methods used were those of a theoretical level historical-logical, analysis-synthesis and systemic structural; the empirical level documentary analysis, observation and interview, beside statistic methods. The main result is to improve the subject program with the inclusion of the study of configuration managers, which allows the preparation of students for the installation and configuration of network services in an automated manner, using current methods that favor their professional performance.
